For the first time in more than a decade, teens from
across the Philadelphia area gathered together for a weekend of fun,
friends, exploration, and excitement at the No'ar Hadash MidAtlantic Teen
Kallah. Hosted by Mishkan Shalom and Or Hadash, this weekend-long
event welcomed eighth, ninth, and tenth graders from JRF congregations
Mishkan Shalom, Or Hadash, and Kehillat HaNahar, as well as from Seaside
Jewish Community, Main Line Reform Temple, and Beth Or. We made values trail
mix, watched movies, experienced TorahQuest, went bowling, ate Chinese food,
had havdallah under the lunar eclipse, painted classrooms with help
from guests of the Interfaith Hospitality Network, and built new
friendships. This incredible event was supported by a generous grant
from the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia and the Jewish Community
Centers of Greater Philadelphia. Highlights of the weekend included
"meeting different people," "playing Twister," "having fun with other Jewish
teens," and "singing during services." Plans are already underway for
a follow-up to this great event . . . stay tuned for more details!
